Signs and symptoms of severe bleeding
While cooks are prone to minor cuts, severe bleeding is cause for concern. Here are a few common symptoms of severe bleeding:
- A visible loss of blood, such as oozing, flowing or spurting
- Pain
- Tenderness
- Pale complexion
- Dizziness or fainting
- Thirst
- Increased loss of consciousness
Severe bleeding varies from other forms of bleeding in a number of ways. Not only is blood loss more noticeable, but the injured person may also be dizzy, pale or decreasingly conscious. Even small cuts could cause severe bleeding and require immediate medical care.
Other physical symptoms of severe bleeding may include:
- Fast heart rate
- Clammy skin
- Low blood pressure
- Intensity of blood loss, such as fast blood accumulation
