What is anxiety?
Experiencing anxiety from time to time is normal. But if you experience extreme or persistent worries about everyday life or have panic attacks, you may be suffering from an anxiety issue. You may also experience physical symptoms as part of your anxiety.
There are many different types of anxiety issues. You may have a generalised anxiety that does not have one particular focus. Or you may have a fear or phobia that relates to a specific issue.
Possible causes for anxiety include:
- A single traumatic experience
- Stress at work
- Drug or alcohol misuse
