If an infant is choking call Triple Zero (000) immediately and follow the DRSABCD Action Plan.

D – Danger

Assess the area to ensure it’s safe for yourself, others and the infant. Only proceed to help them if it is safe. 

R – Response

Check for a response. You can do this by talking to them, calling their name and gently squeezing their shoulders 

If they don’t respond:  

Send for help (call Triple 000) if you haven’t already and follow the DRSABCD Action Plan.

If they do respond:  

Continue following the next steps.
