Topic 1

What is bleeding?

Bleeding is when blood comes out from your body through a cut or wound. This can happen if someone is involved in an accident while driving a truck or when loading or unloading goods and materials.

Knowing what to do if bleeding happens is very important, as bleeding is responsible for nearly half of deaths during the first 24 hours in the trauma department.

Possible causes for bleeding include:

  • Accidents on the road causing cuts or wounds
  • Handling heavy or sharp items that might cause cuts
  • Scrapes or scratches while working around the truck or dealing with goods
